About the Place
This small house is part of the Affordable Housing Neighbourhood of Terras do Forno, a project inaugurated within the framework of Estado Novo’s Affordable Housing Programme and destined to Portuguese trade union members. The house’s rehabilitation and adaptation to a local housing use, carried out in 2013, dealt with one of the few untouched examples within the neighbourhood. The project intended that the inevitable and recommended update of the spaces and infrastructures kept alive the dialogue with the discreet evidence of the domestic life idealized and lived during the dictatorship.
