Museum of Lisbon – Saint Anthony Museum

  • Interventions:
  • Site Specific Arquitectura
  • (2014 reabilitação)

The presence of a perforated metal panel revealing behind it the already existing façade of the museum reinforces its visibility in the context of the square. Designed to conceal the infrastructural installations, this element is part of a recent intervention that doubled the museum’s space, creating new potential for exhibitions. By making use of part of a neighbouring residential building, the identity of the place was redefined whilst maintaining the original geometry and removing elements that remove character. The new design adds large-scale exhibition panels that emphasise the interior volumes and reinforces the use of original interior elements.
