Andaluz Houses

  • Interventions:
  • PLCO Arquitectos
  • (2022)

The renovation of a mid-19th century residential building in four single-family houses started from the knowledge of both the location and construction’s genealogy, and the relationship historically established with the city. One of the essential points in the intervention is giving continuity to the existing spatial structure and construction systems, where the expansion results from a careful analysis of what precedes it and is determined by it. In this context, the renovation adapts it to the demands of contemporary living, with the belief that the best way to respect a legacy is to assume the value of heritage, enlivening it in light of the present.
