Keeping the original structure, the building stands as a typical bourgeois dwelling from the early 20th century, rehabilitated and turned into an architecture office. The space assumes its simplicity, in which planes of white and black contrast each other, creating different atmospheres according to the character intended for each area. On the first floor, the dwelling area, we can now find the workspaces where architecture projects are designed and discussed. At the street level, we can find the store area, formerly occupied by a butchery and now turned into a workshop and scale models room. The area is silent and neutral, the stage for presenting scale models with different materiality, as elements that grant quality to the interior space. A narrow exterior path, adjacent to the building, leads to one of the city’s hidden gardens, through which the access to the office is made. This garden communicates with the space through the large glass opening that synthesizes, in a single plane, the exterior and interior of this former bourgeois dwelling, inviting to a moment of tranquillity from which one can observe this rehabilitation that is configured within the urban tissue of Campolide as a fine bourgeois house.
