Amoreiras 360º Panoramic View

The Amoreiras complex has been a remarkable work for the Portuguese postmodern architectural and urban debate. The shopping centre occupies a common space at the base of the three towers and a fourth building in the south area of the lot. The views, the solar orientation, the typologies and the urban surroundings were critical for the positioning of these vertical elements, whose programme includes housing and offices. The viewpoint was built on the east tower, integrating a differentiated leisure space in the shopping centre complex. The choice of materials and finishing—lioz stone, glass railings and white lacquer—contrasts with the materials of the original complex. At 174 metres above sea level, over the technical area on the top floor, this rooftop offers an impressive 360º view of the Lisbon region: to the South, the beauty and grandeur of the geographical features merge with the buildings; to the North, the contrasts stand out.
