About the Place
At the heart of an historic neighbourhood, this traditional market building from the 1960s underwent extensive remodelling work in 1991 by the architect Melo Carvalheira, which saw the addition of one floor. The commercial space was altered with the introduction of proper shops to replace the former stalls. The most recent intervention by the Fundação Ricardo Espírito Santo Silva is designed so the Arts and Crafts Network can be installed there.
