About the Place

Located in a 19th century building, this apartment withstood, over the years, various interventions that made it lose its original character. The process of transformation assumed the creation of a new space and not a return to the past. With simple gestures and some contradiction, a possible new reality was devised. The eccentricity of the internal volume configures the living room as a limbo composed of three well defined moments that simultaneously are kept as a single space. The apartment’s routine is broken through the introduction of shutters, with dimensions similar to the old ones, this time without ornament and configured by plain blue colours. From this juxtaposition of geometries, textures and materials, contrasting with the spatial intervention’s rhetoric of abstraction and rationality, this apartment gained a new identity.
