Located in a former convent next to the Church of São Domingos in Baixa, this hotel is part of a multi-layered setting, ranging from the medieval city to the Pombaline reconstruction. The renovation respected the convent’s original layout and spatial logic, integrating historical elements into a design that reinterprets contemporary hospitality. The restoration of the cloister and other principal spaces has preserved the convent’s atmosphere. The former Chapter House, one of the most symbolic places of convent life, where the monks gathered to make decisions and discuss community matters, is now the Capítulo Restaurant and Bar. Retaining its character as a place for meeting and sharing, it has been transformed into a space for conviviality, gastronomy and cultural experience.
