About the Place
On an urban scale, Prata connects the old city to Parque das Nações and on a local scale, it connects the old Marvila district with the Tagus River. With a hierarchy of thoroughfares, construction in blocks allows the opening of secondary streets that frame the approach to the river. This permeability of views takes place both in the streets and in the hanging gardens inside the blocks. The buildings, built in stages, accommodate shopping areas on the ground floor and housing of various types on the remaining floors. The larger façades are clad with specially designed ceramic pieces, and the mixture of traditional materials such as tiles, Lioz and plaster with glass and steel, build a project that talks about transparency.
