Apartment in Rua Rodrigo da Fonseca

  • Interventions:
  • Aboim Inglez Arquitectos
  • (2016 reabilitação)

Built in the late 1930s, this apartment with unusual interior dimensions was defined by its gloomy 15-metre-long corridor. The recent intervention rebalances the space and adapts it to contemporary living. The corridor, which now receives much more light and features a bench lining it along one side, is now almost a living space in its own right, and not just a link between the reception rooms and the bedrooms. The apartment’s new luminosity was achieved through specific spatial adaptations and creating a visual connection between the kitchen and the living room.
