About the Place
Mono is an «artist-run space» located in Penha de França created by Hugo Cantegrel. You enter through a garage gate in a common housing building from the first decades of the 20th century and find an indoor area of 600 m2 organised between a space for exhibitions, concerts and performances, studios, and an art residence that can host two artists. The pragmatism of the project evokes the freedom of the various possible uses, making it clear that the intervention carried out promotes a place of multiple practices – besides an art gallery, this is also an experimental field that gives voice to the artistic questions of contemporary practices.
