The author’s second polytechnic school located on the same hill, with a different project date, renewed the look over this territory with an approach of closure, spatial organisation and spiral circulation, approaching architectures enclosed by walls, such as monasteries. The building seems to occupy the entire plot, clearly defining the architectural space. Through the outer walls, almost blind and made of reinforced concrete, we progressively access the interior. On these walls, we perceive the work between mass, weight, structure, lightness, geometry and opening. Such dimensions are explored in other recent works by the author. The basement below street level provides direct access to the auditorium, library and administration. From there, the building develops around a raised courtyard, overlooked by rooms of adequate size for the teaching and rehearsal of each musical instrument, creating a surrounding rhythm of repetition and variation of fenestrations.
