This is a building of great landscape impact and exceptional location. The author worked the continuity and blurring between public and private space through an open interstice area where the pursuit of the riverfront channels the wind and the smells from the sea. It is a medical, scientific and technological centre consisting of an oncological clinic and research laboratories in the main building, and an auditorium, restaurant, exhibition centre and open-air amphitheatre in the public space building. The use of honed lioz stone, both on the walls and the exterior paving, unifies the complex and introduces, through stereotomy and consequent proportion and dimension of the openings, a questioning of the human dimensions, reflected in the comfort of the interior spaces and the perception of the broad gesture explored in the design of the whole complex.
