About the Place
The apartment, in one of two towers designed by Leopoldo Leal in Olivais Sul, takes advantage of the privileged relationship with the nearby Vale do Silêncio park, which forms the view from all windows. The renovation has maintained the original layout and formal composition as much as possible but adapts it to contemporary living. The addition of connections between rooms and optimisation of the usable space have increased the reception space and broken up the modular rigidity by opening a small section of wall and removing an original building element. This intervention also stands out for the number of suspended cubes that make full use of the generous ceiling height for lighting and storage spaces without compromising the design’s aesthetic idiom.
