About the Place
The Upfarming greenhouse acts as a connecting element between the Murtas and Pote d’Água neighbourhoods. Reinterpreting standard industrial greenhouse systems, it features four six-metre-high rotating towers, using verticality as both a technical and spatial strategy. This concentrates production while maintaining permeability and adapting to the park’s scale. The project combines technology, public space and community governance. By reducing the physical and conceptual distance between people and food, the project encourages healthier and more sustainable habits, strengthens social ties, revitalises the neighbourhood and transforms the shared space into a place that embodies active citizenship, sharing and collective care.
