About the Place
This black box in the heart of Bairro Alto has established itself as an essential stop on the Lisbon nightlife circuit, not just as a theatre but also as a bar and entertainment spot. The space was formally the printing room of this 20th-century concrete industrial building, where the Lisbon newspaper Diário Popular (1942-1992) was printed. The inherent constraints and possibilities of an old printing house guided the conversion to a 110-seat theatre, 80 of which are retractable seating with the rest in fixed boxes.
