About the Place
This complex of buildings is located in the future District of Innovation, which includes the campus of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and the metro line as the axis of an urban project for a new centrality. The layout of the buildings is based on the notion of a campus that has knowledge and innovation as its key elements. The classrooms, the campus housing, and the administrative and executive offices are distributed along a U-shaped layout. The main edifice supports a wider construction and the entrance to the campus is marked by a small tower. The social services building features an irregular geometry: protected from the sun and partially lined with glazed mosaic tiles, its white building assumes a sculptural dimension. The auditoriums’ red volume acquires a topographical relevance, as it underlines the upper contour of the Farm.
