About the Place
Inaugurated in 1958, this school remains a benchmark for vocational training in the tourism sector. It now occupies the former premises of Machado de Castro Industrial School and includes a training hotel – the Hotel da Estrela (housed in an 18th-century palace building) – where the content of the courses are practised in a real work context. The most recent remodelling project maintained the grandiose façade and struck a new balance between the new and pre-existing elements.
