Open House Lisboa 2025. Together, we invented Lisbon

Open House Lisbon has closed another successful edition. There were 18,000 visitors over the two days, confirming that this is an event which brings people out into the streets and spaces of the capital.
One of the festival’s hallmarks is volunteering, and around 250 people dedicated their time and energy to coordinating the 72 spaces open to the public. We once again welcomed people from the volunteer exchange programme, who contribute greatly to the intense sharing of experiences between teams.
Spaces as diverse as the National Pantheon, the Fronteira Palace, the Uni Cocktail Bar, the Vilalva Palace (Attorney General’s Office), Casa Ásia (Francisco Capelo Collection), the InSound studio, the Marquês de Valle Flôr Institute, and the British Cemetery and St George’s Anglican Church were new additions that enriched the collection of places presented by Open House each year.
Accessible visits are a priority in the programme, and in the 14th edition they were made possible in 21 spaces with the help of Locus Acesso. We are honoured to enjoy a long-standing partnership with them.
This edition set out to explore the theme “The Invention of Lisbon”, curated by Daniela Sá and João Carmo Simões. This reimagining of a city that is part of so many people’s lives was made possible thanks to a joint effort, celebrated on Sunday afternoon at the party dedicated to the volunteer teams.
We’ll be back in May 2026.
