Emptiness: Identity and Representation
Urban Walk by Cláudia Taborda
Sunday 10h
About this event
Emptiness as such does not exist. The idea of emptiness is culturally constructed. One can only talk about one perception, that of emptiness in apprehended space and time. The city of Lisbon does not have any emptiness even though not all of its spatial geography has been built. The route will cross a repertoire of identity spaces located along the most important 'emptinesses' of the city, the Tagus River, proposing to reflect on the manifestation and legibility of represented power regardless of scale, typology, or spatial form.
