Concert

About this event
Eleven students of the only undergraduate program in the country with complete training of organists present an overview of Portuguese and Spanish 17th century music. The magnificent Iberian organ built by João Fontanes de Maqueira in 1765 is the protagonist of the concert that draws on its characteristics, such as the short octave keyboard and the horizontal pipes, ideal for pieces like "batalhas" ("battles" - which simulate combats, galloping, bugles) or the genre of half-register tento.
